TYPES OF CEMENT, DIFFERENCES AND USES
- Type 1 – Portland cement – this most common type of cement contains 95% clinker cement and 5%. This cement has a quick setting and hydration, making it a basic ingredient of concrete and general-use cement.
- Type 1P – “P” refers to Philippines – this type of cement is exclusively produced in the country. It is composed of blended cement from ordinary Portland cement mixed with Pozzolan. This is used for general construction applications.
- Pozzolan Cement (Type P)– this cement has been discontinued due to dissatisfied consumers. However, the demand for this product comes from construction of mega structures particularly dams, tunnels (something that hold water) because of its slow setting and is said to last from 20-30 years.
